In this area the boards are built using the advanced vacuum sandwich construction. There are no compromises here only the best.
The materials used, dyneema, kevlar and carbon, used in a certain combination bring to the boards the best strength / weight ratio.

Every board goes through the vacuum process 4 times. For gluing heavy duty sandwich plates are used both top and bottom. During laminating stress area such as heels or mastbox can receive up to 4 layers of faded sandwich foam.

All outlines, bottom shapes such as concaves, rockerlines, rail shapes and so on are the result of long-time experience. These design feature need to continue proving themselves to Jürgen and other Northshore riders not only in the strong conditions of Fuerteventura, but at beaches world-wide.

Type of Boards:

In contrast to recent years the typical pintail singlefin has become a little fuller and wider from the mastbase to the nose. This way there is a little more lift for early planning and a bit more railgrip. In the tail section there is less volume than before and the pintail is a fraction more pointy, giving more control.

The bottom has double concaves / single concaves from the mast back to the finbox for really good planning, railgrip and that real 'free' feeling ( in comparison to the 'plastic bag on the fin' feel of heavy vee bottoms). This design also helps a lot structurally.
A strong vee in the back is now only built at a clients request, perhaps for boards for really heavy conditions when control is everything. In normal use the negative points of tail vee outweigh any advantages. Here at Northshore we use a slight vee, mostly in the foreword part of the board for easy rail to rail transitions and good entry in the chop.

Typical Boards:

245cm x 52.5cm x 33tail x 29cm nose x 10.5cm thickness Weight from 4.3kg to 5.4kg (extreme lightness to heavy duty) for 'down the line' surfing. With less radical rocker and concaves and a little wider it can also be built for onshore conditions. A slight tail vee can be used for the most radical conditions.
A good size for women.

For heavier guys :
250cm x 53.5cm x 34cm tail x 30cm nose x 10.9cm thickness
Weight 4.5kg to 5.6kg
The range of boards goes up to 270cm in the ferried area, with different measurements being used for each customer.

The wider fish outlines are used 10 to 15cm shorter than a regular board, mostly fitted with 2 fins they are great for offshore conditions. You will also find them used at Sotavento in the south of the island, in gale force offshore winds. For 'down the line' surfing they are better suited to very clean conditions like those that can be found at Glass Beach.

Freestyle. Fishboards with their wider nosesections are pretty well suited to freestyle. They are made in all the normal lengths, sometimes as single fins.

We still put a lot of attention onto the design of slalom boards, with weights ranging between 4 and 4.5kg. It seems that the best rockerline is one that radically leaves the water after the planning area and then becomes a harmonious curve.
