As a shaper Northshore's Jürgen Hönscheid has 33 yrs of surfing experience and 27 yrs of windsurfing experience in his pocket. For a good part of this time he was a touring pro, competing in World Cup events. He has shaped thousands of boards, and developed many successful designs such as the early F2 Comet, Sunset, Starlit, Strato and Bullit boards.

He has worked with many well known shapers and for a few years has been a product tester for a big German windsurf mag. He is also the author of many articles on shaping and designing boards.

Norshore built the first sandwich construction sailboards under 5 kilos in 1991, and under 4 kilos with a sensational 3.85 kilos in 1996.

• Following strict production protocol. With every board produced in the Northshore factory we monitor every step. The quality and quantity of the materials is precisely noted, and the board is weighed after each individual production step. Of course, all relevant design specification fall under this rigorous protocol ( measurements, rail shapes, bottom contours and so on).
• Northshore builds a wide range of boards: surfboards (shortboards, fish, funshapes, mals), windsurfboards (fish, sideshore, onshore, all-round wavebands, freeride, freestyle, slalom, plus all the current kitesurf board designs). This means that each board can be developed from a huge range of design knowledge and experience, the most appropriate features being incorporated in every one.
